Xiaomi announced its next gen sports camera dubbed as Xiaomi Yi 4K Action Camera 2 in China. The company entered into the field of action camera with the launch of Yi Action Camera last year pricing just CNY 399 (roughly Rs. 3,900 or $60) to take on the GoPro cameras. The brand new Xiaomi Yi 4K Action Camera features a IMX377 sensor which is faster and allows to shoot 4K videos. It is already on pre-sale on various online retailer store including GearBest for just $249.99.

The next gen Xiaomi action camera is also referred as Yi 4K action camera by the company, considering the device sports 4K video recording capabilities at 30fps. It also records 1080p videos at 120fps and 720p videos at 240fps.
The Xiaomi Yi 4KAction Camera 2 sports a 2.19-inch display (360 x 640 pixels) with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and has 160-degree wide viewing angles. It has a 12-megapixels Sony IMX377 sensor which comes with f/2.8 aperture and 155-degree wide viewing angle. Another interesting feature of the device is the EIS (electronic image stabilisation) which was missing on the GoPro Hero 4.
Most importantly, the new Yi 4K Action Camera is powered with 1400mAh battery which provides better backup compared to that of GoPro Hero 4. Users can record videos continuously up to 2 hours on a single charge. To store the videos, there is a microSD card slot included within the device. It includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 as connectivity option.
