Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro have successfully completed its first flash sale on Thursday exclusively through online retailer Flipkart and Xiaomi’s official online store Mi.com. Both the devices were first announced for Indian market on Feb 14 this year.
According to a tweet from Manu Kumar Jain, Group Vice President and Managing Director of Xiaomi India, a total of 3 lakh units of Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro were sold out in just under 3 minutes. Thus, on average, the company sold 1 lakh units per minute. In comparison, Xiaomi India sold 2.5 lakh units of Redmi Note 4 in its first flash sale.

The next sale of these devices will take place on 28th February through online retailer Flipkart and Xiaomi’s official online store Mi.com, at 12:00 PM IST. To meet the demands, the company has already started to scale up its supply chain.
Alongside the Redmi Note 5 series smartphones, the company also launched Mi TV 4 in India for Rs. 39,999. It also went on sale for the first time and went out of stock in less than 10 seconds. Although, there’s no word regarding the number of units sold. The next sale of the Mi TV 4 is scheduled on 27th Feb.
