Download MIUI 8.2 Global Stable ROM [All Models]

As promised, Xiaomi rolled out MIUI 8.2 Global Stable update to a whole bunch of Mi & Redmi devices. The upgrade will be soon available to eligible devices via Xiaomi’s dedicated Updater app, while more devices being added to the list in the coming days.

Currently the MIUI 8.2 update is released only for Mi Max, Mi Max Prime, Mi 4i, Mi 3, Redmi Note 4 Qualcomm, Redmi Note 4X, Mi 4, Mi Note, Redmi 1S, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 3/Prime, Redmi 3S/Prime, Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm, Mi Note 2, Mi Mix, Redmi 2, Mi 5, Redmi4A, Mi 5s, Mi6, and Redmi Note Prime. While other Xiaomi smartphone models namely, Redmi Note 3 Special Edition, Redmi Note 4 MTK, Redmi Note 2, Mi 2/2S, Mi 5s Plus, Redmi 4, and Redmi 4 Prime will receive the MIUI 8.2 Global Stable update starting from today. This is the first time Xiaomi will be rolling out its single OTA upgrade to a total of 24 MIUI smartphones.

As MIUI 8.2 is a major upgrade from Xiaomi, it brings several new features and performance improvements to the smartphones. Some of the cool new features include a new toggle for the notification shade, new system sounds, automatic task management, new ringtones, and Smart Desktop Assistance. Apart from this, it also brings Antivirus feature which protects the device from the applications downloaded outside of the Google Play Store. Does MIUI 8.2 update bring Android Nougat?

Many of the users might be disappointed to hear that the MIUI 8.2 update doesn’t bring Android Nougat yet though the company is on beta testing from the past 3 months. There are various other OEMs who already rolled out Nougat to its top-end devices.

How to Install MIUI 8.2 Global Stable ROM

If you’re on MIUI 8 / MIUI 7 global stable ROM, do launch the ‘Updater’ app and download the update manually. Else download the recovery ROM from the above table and flash it through recovery mode. But if you’re device is on beta ROM or any other developer ROM, you need to flash fastboot ROM via Mi Flash tool.
