It is currently available via Over-the-air (OTA) and is about 1.5GB in size. Users can just head to Updater app and check the updates manually from the path Settings > About Phone > System updates > Check for updates. How to Install MIUI 188.8.131.52 Stable ROM on Mi Max/Prime
Download Mi Max/ Prime latest MIUI 8 ROM from the above download section. If you’re updating via MIUI Recovery ROM, copy the ROM file to device storage. Now you need to launch Updater App and flash the ROM. In case with Fastboot ROM, you need to download & install Mi Flash tool on your PC.
