As promised, Xiaomi has started updating Redmi Note 4 (Snapdragon) to Android 7.0 Nougat in India. The update is rolled out via OTA and is based on MIUI 220.127.116.11. Not all Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 users will get Nougat update immediately. As it is rolling out in phases, users need to wait for the update to appear on their notification bar. But, if you’re among those who can’t wait for the OTA update and wanted to experience the ROM right away, then here we have shared a simple tutorial on how to manually install MIUI 18.104.22.168 Android 7.0 Nougat update on Redmi Note 4.
The update size at 1.3GB also brings along the July Android security patch with it. To make you clear, this Android 7.0 Nougat is not based on MIUI 9. The Redmi Note 4 is confirmed to get MIUI 9 update, and the rollout out of Global Beta ROM already started from August 11.
Coming back to MIUI 22.214.171.124 update, it brings several new features including support for exFAT SD cards, separate app locks for dual apps, slide to browse wallpapers, and more. You can check the complete changelog list by referring to the bottom source link.
