How to Install TWRP Custom Recovery on Xiaomi Mi4S and Mi4C:
1. Download the TWRP recovery file from the above link and rename it as recovery_twrp.img.
2. Now you need to copy the recovery file to the ADB and fastboot folder.
3. From the fastboot folder, launch the command prompt window. To do so, press and hold shift key and right click anywhere in the folder. Then choose “Open command window here” from the available options.
4. Connect the Xiaomi Mi4S / Mi4C with PC using a standard USB cable.
5. Give the following commands in the CMD one after another:
adb reboot bootloader
This command will boot the device into Fastboot mode.
Fastboot devices
With the above command, you’ll come to know whether the device is connected with PC or not.
fastboot flash recovery recovery_twrp.img
This command starts flashing TWRP recovery on your MIUI device.
