After sharing the list of Xiaomi phones to get MIUI 7 update, we are back with another list of eligible Xiaomi smartphones to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade. Most probably Xiaomi Mi5 would be the first Xiaomi device to run on Android Marshmallow OS out of the box. It is the company flagship smartphone scheduled to launched somewhere in November this year. It is the most waiting smartphone of the year which packs with powerful specifications and features.
Google, the developer of Android OS already announced its latest operating system, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Coming Tuesday, September 29th Google has organised an event to launched its latest Nexus devices which will be running on Android Marshmallow out of the box. Thereafter, the various OEM companies will rollout update to their respective high-end devices.
Xiaomi will also release Android M update to its devices all over the world. It might be based on MIUI 8, which can be released in the first quarter of 2016. To know the eligible devices to get the upgrade, here below we shared a complete list.

The above list is just an assumption from our side till Xiaomi releases the official list of devices to be upgraded for Marshmallow.
Sir I have updated my redmi 2prime to MIUI 7 but the android version is still kitkat. When will it be upgradable to lollipop?
Probably never 😛 cuz there is no point of such update cuz MIUI on 4.4 and 5.0/1 works just the same, on kitkat there are even less problems with some apps.
Redmi note 2 prime ,I’m on miui v7 6.1.31 its android version 5,0.2LRX22G, I’m waiting android M also ,but they basically all the same as miui is heavy on the android ,but I do like it more than other oem skins ,it is heavy but it works well ,as well as having its own nice feautres ,I cannot see android M making too much different in the miui ROMs ,they stick to what they know an what works

You should be aware, that when you buy chines phone, OS update come late or don’t come at all.

My Chinese Xiaomi phone has weekly updates, while my Japanese Sony phone had a single update since its launch four years ago…
My Chinese Xiaomi phone was released with Android 5.0.2 and is scheduled to have Android 6.
My wife’s Chinese THL phone was released with Android 4.4.2 and was updated to Android 5.0.2 little after its release.
My Japanese Sony phone was released with Android 4.0.3 and four years later, it has Android 4.0.3 because no Android updates were ever released…
It will not be upgraded to lolipop straight to marshmallow.Maybe early next year.

13 and taste marshmallow right away without voiding the warranty.

I highly doubt any of the older devices will ever receive a Android 6 update. MI3 never received Android 5 officially. So guys dont bet on Xiaomi supporting anything.

Xiaomi will soon roll out MIUI 7.2 update. May be it brings Marshmallow to the device.
