Root Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Android 5.0 Lollipop Smartphone:
Download TWRP recovery and SuperSU files from the download section. Now rename the TWRP recovery to “img” and transfer it to directory where Minimal ADB and Fastboot tools are installed. Copy the Super SU file to device inbuilt memory and enter into Fastboot mode. Press Volume Down + Power Key and then release Power key to enter into Fastboot mode.

Hi I tried following your tutorial but I’m unlucky so far. Where is the root file .zip to flash? I’m running global version stable. Any ideas pls?
Bhavin Khetani
SuperSu is the root file located under download section
Radley
After getting to the TWRP menu and clicking install, it asks “Select Zip to install”.
The SuperSU file you attached is an APK file and doesn’t appear in the file browser.
Also, your tutorial never explains that you need to copy supersu to your phone in the first place. I did this anyway, but it doesn’t change the fact I can’t select the file in TWRP.
EDIT: This is the correct file for a zip installation, https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
