MIUI 7 is Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS based MIUI ROM scheduled to release on August 13th 2015. Xiaomi will officially unwrap its latest operating system in a special event being held at Beijing, China. Xiaomi announced MIUI 6 on August 13th 2014. So, thinking that the date is quite lucky for them, the company will announce the last software on the same day of current year.
Xiaomi Mi 5, which is next flagship smartphone will runs on MIUI 7 on top of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. The latest MIUI bring better user interface, and tons of new features compared to MIUI 6. However, Xiaomi will release the complete changelog of MIUI 7 update at the time of official announcement.
When coming to firmware update, it’s always a question in mind whether my phone gets updated to latest version or not. Who doesn’t want to experience the latest firmware which comes with lots of new features and bug fixes. Here below we shared some Xiaomi devices which is expected to receive MIUI 7 update. It is just an expectations, however the company will confirm the official list at the time of launching the MIUI 7.

The Chinese Smartphone vendor is planning to launch Redmi Note 2 alongside with MIUI 7 at the same event. The smartphone already leaked couple of times. According to the leaks, it features a 5.7-inch 2.5D glass screen with 1920 x 1080 pixels display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, MIUI 6 on top of Android 4.4.4 OS and 4G LTE connectivity.

and what about Redmi 1s..? is it eligible for MIUI 7.
Xiaomi will roll out MIUI 7 update for Redmi 1S unit in China, but coming to India, still the company has not made a official confirmation. Users can experience the MIUI 7 by installing the custom ROM which will be soon made available.

Currently the device is running on MIUI 7 stable ROM. So, that the latest firmware released from Xiaomi. Yes, we can expect small updates to fix bugs (if any) in the coming months.

No the latest MIUI 7 update is based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS. According to the reports, users might not receive any Lollipop based updates in the future.That means they will remain to KitKat

Bhavin, I have a Redmi Note 2 in Australia, the ROM is MIUI 6, when I go to updater, It says “No updates available” I only want the official version via Mi OTA
But the Redmi Note 2 was launched running MIUI 7 out of the box. How you will be on MIUI 6.
I bought from Gearbest in HK (shipped Sept 30) and the installed RoM is MIUI 6 which is why I want to know when official version is ready to download 🙂
