Earlier this month, Xiaomi released MIUI 10 China Beta ROM to selective devices and today the Chinese smartphone giant has made available Global beta versions of its latest software in India. Xiaomi announced the global version of MIUI 10 ROM at ‘Xiaomi Redmi Y2’ launch event last week.
Although Xiaomi wants to roll out final version of MIUI 10 Stable ROM for the majority of Mi & Redmi devices, the current list of devices supporting the Beta version is pretty small.
The devices currently receiving MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM update include the Mi Mix 2, Mi Mix 2S, Redmi S2, Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro. The company originally included Mi 6 flagship to receive the update, but due to some technical issues, the update has been suspended. The company started recruiting beta testers for the MIUI 10 Global ROM last week to begin the testing of the new version.
On top of major UI changes, the beta update with version MIUI 8.6.14 also includes an updated Mi Browser with an optimized start page, PWA (Progressive Web App) support, better search functionality, and App Vault with a World Cup card. Further, the update fixes Greek language localization.
Meanwhile, if you have any of the above compatible devices running on the latest MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM and have registered for MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM, then you can manually check for OTA updates from the path Settings > About Phone > System updates > Check for updates. Users can also take the help of the Updater App to download the ROM. Users on Global Stable ROM need to wait for Xiaomi providing download links of the ROM which can be flashed via Fastboot method.
