Xiaomi yesterday released its first developer version of MIUI 8 China Developer ROM for various range of Mi & Redmi devices. The ROM provides the complete experience of official MIUI 8 China stable ROM. Of all the models, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (both MediaTek and Snapdragon variants) users are one of the lucky to get China Developer ROM 6.6.16 support. It brings key features like the new design, Second space, Long screenshots, New Calculator, Mi Lanting font, new battery saver, Mi drop, redesigned task manager and much more. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 users will be glad to hear that they can manually flash MIUI 8 China Developer ROM using Mi Flash Tool and SP Flash tool. Before starting with the flashing process, do check the below requirements.
Quick Prerequisites:
- Make sure USB debugging mode is enabled. To enable go to About phone > tap MIUI version at least 7 times to activate the Developer options. Go to Additional settings > Developer options > USB debugging > Enable it. You can also check here for complete guide.
- Make sure to disable driver signature enforcement in Windows 7/8/10 64-Bit
- Battery should be charged at least 70% or more.
- A USB cable for connecting the device with PC.
- A proper backup of your important data should be taken.
How to install MIUI 8 China Developer ROM on Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon
Method 1: Fastboot
Download Section:
1. Download ADB & Fastboot drivers and MiFlashtool from the above section and install them on your computer.
2. Also, install Qualcomm driver on PC.
3. Launch the MiFlash tool.
4. Boot the device into Download mode and connect with PC.
5. From the tool, tap on ‘Refresh’ to confirm the connection.
6. Now you need to tap on ‘select’ in the MiFlash tool and then go to the fastboot ROM folder and choose images and click OK.
7. Then tap on ‘Flash’ to start the flashing process.
Method 2: Recovery
Download the Recovery ROM on your PC and copy the same to your “Download” folder on your device.
Next, open the Updater app, click on “3 dots” and select “Choose update package”. Here you need to select the ROM which you copied to device storage. Tap ‘OK’ to start the flashing process. Once done, the device automatically boots into normal mode. Enjoy!
Flash MIUI 8 on Redmi Note 3 (MTK) MediaTek
Method 1: Fastboot
Download Section:
1. Extract all the .zip files and install them on your computer.
2. Next, go to the hennessy_images_6.5.26_20160516.0000.22_5.0_cn folder, move the”MT6795_Android_scatter.txt” into the “signed_bin” folder.
3. Launch the SP Flash tool.
4. From the SP Flash tool, click on the “Download Agent” and open the “DA_SWSEC.bin” file from the SP Flash tool folder.
5. Similar tap on the “Scatter-loading” button and open the “MT6795_Android_scatter” file.
6. Next, you need to click on the “Download” button.
7. Then press and hold the Volume Down button and connect the device with PC/Laptop using a USB Cable.
8. The flashing process starts and ends-up with the progress bar at the bottom turning Yellow completely. You will also see a big green color tick mark on the center of the tool which indicates that the MIUI 8 China Developer ROM has been successfully flashed.
9. Reboot the device and start enjoying MIUI 8 on your Redmi Note 3 MediaTek smartphone.
Method 2: Recovery
