How to Flash MIUI V8.5.1.0.NBCMIED Fastboot ROM on Mi Max (Global)
- Download and extract the Mi Max MIUI V8.5.1.0.NBCMIED Fastboot ROM on your computer. Make sure to check if the ROM file suffix is “.tgz“. If it is “.gz“, please rename it to “.tgz“.
- Download and extract Xiaomi ROM Flash Tool on your computer.
- Make sure your Mi Max’s bootloader is unlocked.
- Power off and boot Mi Max (Global) into Fastboot Mode by pressing the Volume Down and Power buttons together until you see the Fastboot logo.

How to Install MIUI V8.5.1.0.NBCMIED Recovery ROM on Mi Max (hydrogen) via Stock Recovery
We can update the Mi Max (Global) firmware via recovery without using computer. However, the Recovery ROM MIUI version must be higher than your current installed version, as downgrading firmware is blocked by Xiaomi.
While user data is retained when flashing via stock recovery, it’s recommended to backup your Mi Max (Global) data before installing, in case of accidental data loss.
Follow the steps to install MIUI V8.5.1.0.NBCMIED Recovery ROM on Mi Max using stock recovery:
