Oppo’s sub-brand Realme is all set to announce its third smartphone in India at a special launch event on September 27. Dubbed as ‘Realme 2 Pro’, the smartphone is the high-end variant of Realme 2 which was announced just last month. Although there is no official details revealed about the Realme 2 Pro specifications and features, but thanks to rumours and leaks we have enough details on what is turning out to be a pretty impressive mid-range smartphone from the company.
The Realme 2 Pro is said to feature dewdrop (waterdrop) notch display and a powerful chipset. With this launch, the Realme 2 Pro will be the India’s first with a dewdrop display in its segment. The smartphone is confirmed to be Flipkart exclusive as a dedicated page is already live on the website.
Realme already showcased the design of its upcoming smartphone though an advertisement recently, which clearly shows an Oppo F9 Pro like waterdrop notch display. The F9 Pro is a Rs. 25,000 segment device while the Realme 2 Pro is expected to price around Rs. 20,000. This would make the Realme 2 Pro the most affordable phone with a waterdrop notch.
In terms of specifications, the Realme 2 Pro is expected to feature a 6.2-inch HD+ in-cell display panel along with a 19:9 aspect ratio. Though existence of the dual camera setup at the back has already been confirmed, there are no real figures out yet. It is speculated to boast 13-megapixel primary sensor along with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, there could be an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
Under the hood, the device includes an octa-core Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset coupled with 6GB/8GB of RAM for better multi-tasking. The device comes pre-installed with Android 8.1 Oreo based Opp’s Color OS 5.1 on top. It comes in 64GB and 128GB storage variants which can be further extendable up to 256GB via microSD card.
