Xiaomi today launched the improved Redmi 3S in the affordable Redmi series in China. It is also a successor of Redmi 3 with inclusion of a fingerprint reader on the back. Pricing just 699 Yuan, the Xiaomi Redmi 3s provides all the specs and features you’re looking in a mid-range device.
It has a 5-inch IPS display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and is powered with an octacore Snapdragon 430 chipset. It has options for either 2GB RAM + 16GB storage or 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variants, has dual SIM supports and a massive 4100mah battery on the back.
As the device comes with hybrid SIM support, the second SIM slot can be used for memory expansion with the help of microSD card.
There is a 13MP rear camera with PDAF, LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, and 1080p video recording, it also includes a 5MP front facing camera. The other features includes full metal body, fingerprint support, MIUI 7, and 4G LTE (also includes other standard connectivity options).
The Xiaomi Redmi 3s will be offered in three different color version – Dark grey, silver, and gold colors and will go on sale starting from June 16th in China for 699 Yuan (US$ 106 / Rs. 7120 approx.) for 16GB and 899 Yuan (US$ 136 / Rs. 9165 approx.).
Xiaomi didn’t announced its plans of releasing the smartphone in India or any other Asian countries. Stay tuned as we will update once anything goes official about the Redmi 3s.
