Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi announced two new premium smartphones in India: the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. Both the devices were initially launched in China back in May this year. Of both, the Redmi K20 Pro is a flagship offering with Snapdragon 855 SoC, up to 8GB RAM while the Redmi K20 is a mid-range version with Snapdragon 730 SoC and 6GB RAM. Both the devices will be available to purchase starting from July 22nd across offline and online stores. A Full-HD+ AMOLED display, 3D four-curved large arc body along with a new Aura Prime Design, and a pop-up selfie camera module are the highlights of both Redmi K20-series smartphones.
Redmi K20, K20 Pro – Specifications
The Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro come with a 6.39-inch Full HD+ 19.5:9 aspect ratio AMOLED HDR display with 2340 x 1080 pixels screen resolution. There is also Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Both the devices run on Android 9.0 Pie with the company’s custom MIUI 10 skin on top.
The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro sports a triple rear cameras – a 48MP primary Sony IMX582 sensor along with an f/1.75 lens, a 13MP wide-angle lens and an 8MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. Both the devices also come with a similar 20-megapixels selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.
In terms of hardware, the Redmi K20 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with Adreno 640 GPU and up to 8GB of RAM. It comes in 128GB and 256GB storage options, measures 156.7 x 74.3 x 8.8mm, and weighs 191g.
On the other hand, the Redmi K20 comes with a Snapdragon 730 SoC coupled with Adreno 618 GPU. It has 6GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB internal storage options. The connectivity options includes dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS, and USB Type-C. Both the devices packs with a 4000mAh battery with fast charging technology.
Price and Availability:
The Redmi K20 Pro comes in Flame Red, Glacier Blue and Carbon Fiber Black colors, is priced at Rs. 27,999 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version and the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage version costs Rs. 30,999.
On the other hand, the Redmi K20 comes in Carbon Black, Flame Red and Glacier Blue colors, is priced at Rs. 21,999 for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version and the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs Rs. 23,999.
Both the devices will be up for grab on Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores starting from July 22nd. Redmi is also offering a ree hard case inside the box.
