Xiaomi Redmi 4, the next affordable offering from the Chinese smartphone vendor is all set to launch today at Beijing special event scheduled at 7pm CST (4:30pm IST). Like its previous launches, the entire event can be live streamed online. It is also expected that the company might announce cheaper Xiaomi Redmi 4A at the same event.
While the teaser image of Redmi 4 which already surfaced earlier this week doesn’t reveal but the recent rumours and leaks surfaced online gives certain idea about the device. The leaks suggests that the device comes with hardware button on the front below the display with fingerprint sensor equipped on it and Volume + Power buttons allocated at the right. It could feature a 5-inch LCD display with screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and powered with a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor or a MediaTek Helio P10 SoC. It includes 3GB RAM with 128GB internal storage which can be extendable up to 128GB using a microSD.
It might feature a 13-megapixels rear camera with dual-LED flash, a 5-megapixels selfie camera and runs on Android Marshmallow. It includes a 4100mAh battery which provides backup for an entire day. The Redmi 4 is expected to launch in Grey, Silver and Gold colour variants and could carry a price tag of 999 Yuan (INR 9810 approx. / US$ 147).
