Xiaomi will be celebrating its 8th Anniversary on May 31 with the launch of a range of products including the Xiaomi Mi 8 flagship, MIUI 10, Mi Band 3, and more. The launch of all these products was officially confirmed by Xiaomi itself. Xiaomi is launching the Mi 8 as the successor of Mi 6 thereby skipping the Mi 7 model.
Only three days left for the launch event, and today the photos of the phone retail box and a poster have been leaked online revealing some important specs and details about the flagship.
A leaked poster of Xiaomi Mi 8 reveals the biggest notch even seen on a smartphone. The poster also shows that the phone comes in blue color variant and will have AI dual rear cameras (20MP + 16MP). The rear cameras are arranged vertically similar to that of Mi Mix 2S flagship.
As leaked earlier, the poster also confirms the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and 3D infrared facial recognition. It will come in a few variants, one of which is the 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage. There are other models with 8GB of RAM and bigger storage options. As rumored, the Xiaomi Mi 8 skips the 3.5mm audio jack and the only way to listen to songs is through the Type-C audio.
The text on the black colored Xiaomi Mi 8 retail box also reveals the new “dual-frequency GPS” module. This latest technology offers 30-centimeter accuracy to current 5-meter accuracy, consume 50% less battery, and delivers enhance location-based services and apps for mobile phones, tablets, and wearables.
MIUI fan need not wait long as the official launch date of Xiaomi Mi 8 flagship is not far from here. Stay tuned as we’ll update with every detail once the device goes official coming Thursday.
