Xiaomi Mi A1, the company’s first Android One smartphone starts receiving stable version of Android 8.0 Oreo. The update news comes with Xiaomi itself through its official Twitter handle. Accordingly to Xiaomi, the Android 8.0 Oreo update for Xiaomi Mi A1 will be rolled out in batches, which means not every users will get the update right away. The update is pushed via over-the-air (OTA) and is about 1.1GB in size. So, make sure to use high speed internet connection to download the firmware and there should be enough battery charge to install the new update on your smartphone.
To remind you, Xiaomi released Android 8.0 Oreo Beta version for registered Mi A1 users in the early December 2017 and now it has started pushing stable version to all handsets. With this roll out, Xiaomi Mi A1 becomes one of the first device pricing under Rs. 15000 to get Android 8.0 Oreo update. Not only these, it will also be one of the first phones to get Android P update.

Android 8.0 Oreo comes with array of features including Background limits, Picture-in-Picture (PIP), Snoozing individual notification, Adaptive icons, Keyboard navigation, AAudio API for Pro Audio, WebView enhancements, Google Play Protect, a new Settings menu, smart text selection, adaptive icons, and much more. In addition to all these features, the update also includes the December Security patch from Google.
Installation: As it is an OTA (over-the-air) update, users need to download Xiaomi Mi A1 Android 8.0 Oreo update from the path Settings App > System > System Update and hit install.
