Xiaomi announced its first Android smartphone with dual-camera setup in India for Rs. 14,999. To be called as Xiaomi Mi A1, it has been given the tag line “created by Xiaomi, powered by Google” as it is an Android One phone created in partnership with Google running stock Android. Currently, it runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS out-of-the-box with guarantee Android 8.0 Oreo update by 2017. Not only this, the Xiaomi Mi A1 will also be among the first to get Android P upgrade.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 is made of a full-metal body with rounded edges. In terms of display, it flaunts a 5.5-inch Full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) resolution display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Under the hood, there is a mid-range octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with 4GB of Ram for multi-tasking and Adreno 506 GPU. There is also 64GB of internal storage which can be further extended with microSD card.
As already said above, the main highlight of the device is the dual rear camera setup. Talking about the camera resolution, the smartphone features a 12-megapixels wide-angle lens, and a 12-megapixels telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom support. There is also a 5-megapixels front facing camera.
There is a fingerprint sensor on the back and the phone is powered by a 3080mAh built-in battery which provides backup for an entire day. The various connectivity options available within the latest Android One smartphone are 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + Glonass, and USB Type-C.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 comes in Black, Gold and Rose Gold colors, is priced at Rs. 14,999 and will be available exclusively from Flipkart and Mi.com online as well as Mi Home stores and other offline retailers starting September 12th at 12 noon.
