Xiaomi India has started sending out invites for its next Mi smartphone launch scheduled on July 18th. The invite reads as “Last year, we made ripples with this new category and now it is back. Join us in witnessing the return of ‘BIG’ at Xiaomi Media Briefing” that clearly hits the upcoming smartphone is none other than Mi Max 2.
The device was first announced in China back in May this year in Gold colour. Mi Max 2 is the successor of Xiaomi Mi Max smartphone which was launched last year in India for Rs. 14,999. There is no details available regarding the pricing of the phablet, but it is expected to price around Rs. 14,999 for the base model. We should know the actual pricing and availability of the handset once it goes official.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Specifications: The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 sports a 6.44-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS 2.5D curved glass display and runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Under the hood, there is a 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 506 GPU.
The camera department of Xiaomi Mi Max 2 includes 12-megapixels rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, Sony IMX386 sensor and 1.25um pixel size. There is a 5-megapixels front facing camera with 85-degree wide-angle lens, f/2.0 aperture.
Other features of the device includes hybrid dual SIM support, 4GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage, Fingerprint sensor, 4G VoLTE connectivity and a microSD card slot for memory expansion. There is a 5300mAh battery on the back with Quick Charge 3.0 feature.
