Xiaomi on Tuesday announced the Mi Max 2, successor of last year’s Mi Max smartphone in India. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 16,999 and will be available to purchase on various online platform such as Mi.com, Flipkart, Amazon Tatacliq, and Paytm as well as offline stores. The phablet will be first sold on Mi.com and Mi Home during Mi 3rd anniversary sale on July 20 and 21st 12PM.
Reliance Jio is also offering 100GB 4G data for Xiaomi Mi Max 2 buyers. Mi Max 2 comes with similar 7.44-inch display to that of its predecessor and here’s everything to know about phablet.

Coming to display, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a 6.44-inch full HD display (1920 x 1080 pixels), with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top. It has metal unibody design and is powered by an 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 14nm Mobile platform with Adreno 506 GPU.
It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with an option to expand using microSD card. The smartphones runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat firmware and the further update to MIUI 9 in future will bring in a split screen mode.
Xiaomi Mi Max comes with a 12-megapixels rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, Sony IMX386 sensor and 1.25um pixel size. The rear camera is able to capture 4K videos at 30 fps. There is a 5-megapixels front facing camera for video calling and other selfie purposes.
It includes a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel, an IR blaster for controlling various home appliances. It measures 174.1 x 88.7 x 7.6mm compared to Mi Max 173.1 x 88.3 x 7.5mm. For better gaming & video experience, Mi Max 2 comes with two stereo speakers, one on the bottom of the device and the other along the earpiece.
Finally, the Mi Max 2 comes with a massive 5300mAh battery with reverse charging support. It has USB Type-C port and the support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology lets you charge the handset about 68% in just one hour of charge. It has hybrid dual SIM support, where the second slot can be used either for second SIM or microSD card for memory expansion. The connectivity options includes 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC.
