Xiaomi Mi Max 3, the Xiaomi’s latest phablet in its popular ‘Mi Max’ series has been officially announced in China today, as it has promised. Equipped with larger displays and even larger batteries, the Mi Max series have got a great success in this niche as many of the smartphones OEM didn’t even try to enter. The latest Xiaomi Mi Max 3 takes a period of 14 months to be launched as the successor of Mi Max 2. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 was initially announced in May last year with 6.44-inch display, 5300mAh battery, and Snapdragon 625 SoC.
Xiaomi Mi Max 3 – Specifications, Features
The dual-SIM (Hybrid Nano) Xiaomi Mi Max 3 flaunts a 6.9-inch Full HD+ 18:9 IPS 2.5D curved glass display with a brightness of 520 its, 1500:1 contrast ratio, and 84% NTSC color gamut. The phablet runs on MIUI on top of Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by an 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 636 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 509 GPU. There is no display notch on the handset.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 comes in two variants – 4GB LPDDR4X RAM + 64GB ROM and 6GB LPDDR4X RAM + 128GB ROM. There is also microSD card slot for further memory expansion up to 256GB.
On the camera department, the phablet sports a 12MP rear camera with dual PD focus along with a secondary 5MP camera for AI and AI features for the camera that can detect 206 scenes and comes with AI voice assistant. There is also a 8MP front camera with Face Unlock feature.
There is a fingerprint sensor on the metal back, and the phone packs a 5500mAh battery with support from Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging as well as parallel charging. The connectivity options includes Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C.
Price and Availability:
The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 comes in Meteorite Black, Dream Gold and Dark Blue colors, is priced at 1699 yuan (US$ 252 / Rs.17,320 approx.) for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version and the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs 1999 yuan (US$ 296 / Rs. 20,375 approx.). It will be available in China starting from July 20th.
