After the great success of Xiaomi Mi Mix bezel-less smartphone, the company has set September 11 as the date for announcement of its successor. Dubbed as Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, it will be a tough competitor to all the latest flagship models including Galaxy S8, LG G6, and more. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is said to feature 93 percent screen-to-body ratio compared to 91.3% of its predecessor. It also confirmed that it will be designed by French designer Philippe Starck, who designed the Mi Mix.
Xiaomi has officially shared the teaser on Weibo which reads “Full Screen 2.0” (translated in English). Also, the launch of Xiaomi’s second generation bezel-less smartphone is happening just a day before Apple’s Tim Cook announces the iPhone 8.
The Chinese smartphone vendor doesn’t revealed much about the flagship, but we have enough idea of what to expect in terms of specs thanks to previous leaks and rumors. According to leaks, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 sports a 6.44-inch display and is powered by latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 chipset. The display of the device will be a curved AMOLED instead of LCD display on the Mi MIX.
It is also expected to see 6GB or 8GB of RAM, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display, and possibly even a dual-camera setup on the rear panel. It most probably runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI 9 on top of it.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 announcement is scheduled on September 11 at University of Technology Gymnasium. So, all the details will be made official then. Stay tuned!
