2016 was one of the best year for the Xiaomi as it introduced the Xiaomi Mix, smartphone with 91.3% screen-to-body ratio taking technology to the next level. Now, the latest reports claims the company is currently working on the Mi Mix successor which might feature 93% screen-to-body ratio. The device could be dubbed as Mi Mix 2 and features a curved AMOLED display instead of LCD display on the predecessor.
Though Xiaomi suggested Mi Mix has a 91.3% screen-to-body ratio, the actual figure measured around 84.16%. Considering this, we might not see the complete 93% figure to the Mi Mix successor. With reports of Samsung working on its infinity display smartphones, Xiaomi needs to be really innovative to strive these world leading smartphone manufactures.
There is an under-glass ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on the Xiaomi Mi5s to scan your fingerprint in a spilt-second, but it was built on the bezel below the display. Considering the Mi Mix 2, it is said to feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor below the display itself. To remind you, the first generation of Mi Mix smartphone included the fingerprint scanner on the rear side.
Release Date: There is no exact time frame when the Mi Mix 2 will be officially announced in China. Keeping all the facts, it is expected to be unveiled sometime later this year. Stay tuned as we will update with every detail about the Mi Mix 2 in the course of its official launch.
