Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, the company’s latest bezel-less display smartphone officially announced at an event in China. The smartphone has ceramic body, and features facial recognition technology. Apart from these, the Mi Mix 2 has 12-percent smaller chin (bottom bezel) compared to that of its predecessor and comes in special edition featuring 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Alongside the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, the Chinese smartphone giant also revealed two other Xiaomi devices i.e. the Mi Note book Pro and Mi Note 3 at the same event. The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 is the successor of last year Mi Note 2 with dual-camera setup similar to this year’s Mi 6 flagship.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 – Full Specifications
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 flaunts a 5.99-inch FHD (1080 x 2160 pixels) 18:9 display with a pixel density of 403ppi and a DCI-P3 colour gamut. It is 11.9% smaller in size compared to its predecessor, Mi Mix which features a 6.4-inch display. It is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 chipset clocking at up to 2.45GHz and coupled with 6GB/8GB of RAM.

On the camera department, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 packs with a 12-megapixels rear camera with Sony IMX386 sensor, 1.25um pixel size, f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, 4-axis OIS, and 4K video recording. On the front, there is a 5-megapixels front-facing camera with facial recognition and 1080p video recording.
The dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) Xiaomi smartphone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat based on MIUI 9. It comes in 64GB / 128GB / 256GB storage variants without any microSD card slot. It comes supported with several connectivity functions including 4G LTE, dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, GPS / A-GPS, Bluetooth v5.0, and USB Type-C.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Price, First Sale Details
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 comes in Black color for the standard version with four-sided curved ceramic body with aluminium alloy frame and costs 3299 yuan (US$ 506 / Rs. 32,350 approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version, 3599 yuan (US$ 552 / Rs. 35,280 approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version and the 6GB RAM with 256GB storage version costs 3999 yuan (US$ 613 / Rs. 39,210 approx.).
On the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 special edition with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage comes is Black and White colors and costs 4699 Yuan (US$ 721 / Rs. 46,060 approx.). The standard version will go on sale for the first time in China on Friday, September 15 and registrations for the same start on Monday. The special Edition model will go on sale in November. No details revealed by the company regarding global release of the smartphone.
