Xiaomi at its ‘Curved to Impress’ event in China (Beijing) announced its latest generation flagship smartphone, the Mi Note 2. The highlight of the device is its dual-edge 3D curved display just similar to that of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The Mi Note 2 is company third handset in the Mi Note series, earlier it announced Mi Note and Mi Note Pro smartphones.
Like company previous flagships, the Mi Note 2 will be available in three variants: a 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant priced at CNY 2,799 (US$ 410 / Rs. 27610 approx.), a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage pricing CNY 3,299 (US$ 486 / Rs. 32550 approx.) and the Global Edition 6GB RAM + 128GB storage priced at CNY 3,499 (US$ 516 / Rs. 34,525 approx.). It will be available in Silver and Black color options and is already available for order in China while the shipping starts from November 1.
On the front is a 5.7-inch flexible OLED display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution and is powered with a Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor clocking at the speed of 2.35GHz. For graphics, there is an Adreno 530 GPU. Apart from all these top notch specifications, the device is backed by a 4,070mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging feature.
The Mi Note 2 flaunts a 22.56-megapixels rear camera with a Sony IMX318 Exmor RS sensor, an f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, ands EIS for 4K video stabilisation. On the front, there is a 8-megapixels shooter with group selfie feature and Auto Beautify 3.0.
Apart from standard connectivity features like 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB Type-C, the device also includes NFC connectivity with support for Mi Pay mobile payment services. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top and has dual SIM (nano + nano) support. It measures 156.2 x 77.3 x 7.6mm and weighs 166 grams.
