Hugo Barra, Xiaomi VP for International market already confirmed that company latest flagship smartphone, the Mi5 will soon launch in India. Today, company has started sending invites with the tag “All you ever imagined, and more.” The “5” denotes about the Xiaomi Mi5, as it is the only expected smartphone to be launch in India. Recently the China-based smartphone vendor launched the Redmi Note 3 mid-ranger in India starting from Rs. 9,999. It is available to purchase on Mi official website and Amazon.in through flash sales.
Coming back to the flagship, it was first announced in China last month and also showcased the same at the MWC 2016. The Xiaomi Mi5 comes with Snapdragon 820 SoC, 3GB RAM and 64GB / 32GB internal storage. In fact, there is also Mi5 Pro which includes 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, but it is still unclear whether it will be introduced to India.
It is the only Xiaomi device to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, with the Xiaomi MIUI 7 custom rom on top. Recently Xiaomi rolled out China Stable ROM based on Marshmallow for Mi4 and Mi3 smartphones.
The Mi5 sports a 5.15-inch Full HD IPS LCD display and has 3,000mAh battery capacity with quick charge feature. It also equips a 16MP rear camera with OIS (the 4-axis stabilization), 4K video recording, and F/2.0 aperture and a 4MP selfie camera.
