Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the Mi 6 is expected to launch in three processor variants and will be dubbed as Mi 6S, Mi 6E, and Mi 6P. Of all the three variants, the ‘Mi 6’ label is consistent while the alphabet beside it changes according to the chipset type used within the device.
Coming to the type of chipset, the Xiaomi Mi 6S could be powered with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SoC while the Mi 6E include MediaTek’s Helio SoC. But the ‘E’ moniker could also refer to Exynos chipset. Finally, the Mi 6P could feature Xiaomi’s own Pinecone SoC. We already have rumours that Xiaomi is working on its own chipset just similar to that of Huawei manufacturers, who developed Kirin SoC. It seems we could soon see debut of Xiaomi-made processor in the early next year and the Mi6 could be the first device to powered with it. Other rumours hints a dual camera setup, 4K display, and Quick Charge 4.0 which is claimed to offer 5 hours or more usage with just a 5-minute charge. On the software front, we could see Mi 6 running on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box with MIUI 9 on top.
