MIUI 7, which is the Xiaomi latest MIUI ROM has been scheduled to launch on August 13th in a special event being held at the National Convention Center, Beijing. The MIUI 6 was announced last year on the same date i.e. August 13. So, thinking the date is lucky for the Chinese OEM, it will announce the next MIUI ROM on the same day of this year.
The MIUI 6 was announced based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS while the new Xiaomi handset Mi 4i runs on MIUI 6 based on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS. The MIUI 6 comes with a flat user interface and new features when compared with MIUI 5.
Coming to MIUI 7, the ROM will be based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS which brings better user experience by adding new features and colourful user interface. The company could release more changelogs and update details in the coming days. Xiaomi Mi 5 which is the 2015 flagship smartphone will run on MIUI 7 out of the box.
