Xiaomi on Monday launched its latest budget Android smartphone in China dubbed as Xiaomi Redmi 3. It is the company cheapest Metal body smartphone till date. Earlier Xiaomi launched its first full metal device dubbed as Redmi Note 3 in China starting for $140.
Unlike the Redmi 2/Prime and Redmi 1s which sports 4.7-inch display, Xiaomi this time added a bigger 5-inch display to the Redmi 3 with screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is powered with an Octa-Core Snapdragon 616 SoC coupled with 2GB LPDDR3 RAM and runs on MIUI 7 on top of Android Lollipop OS.
Coming to the cameras, there is 13-megapixels rear facing camera with LED Flash and is accompanied with 5-megapixels front facing camera. It has 16GB of internal memory with an option to expand up to 128GB via microSD card. Similar to that of Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi has added a bigger battery to Redmi 3 too. So, battery will be one of the biggest highlights of the device.

Price and Availability: It comes in various colors like Dark Grey, Silver, Gold, and Classic Gold colors and has price tag of 699 Yuan (US$ 107 / Rs. 7,140 approx). The smartphone will be available to purchase in China starting from tomorrow, January 12th. Company didn’t announce any plans of launching the device to the other parts of the world.
