Xiaomi today launched Redmi 3 Pro, its latest budget Android smartphone and the successor of Redmi 3 in China for 899 yuan (US$ 138 / Rs. 9190). The Redmi 3 was announced back in January this year for 699 Yuan (US$ 107 / Rs. 7,140) and there was no fingerprint scanner included. Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro Details
Like its predecessor, the new Redmi 3 Pro also features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and is powered with octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 64-bit processor coupled with Adreno 405 GPU. Xiaomi has included 3GB of RAM for better multi-tasking feature compared to Redmi 3 2GB of RAM.
Another feature Xiaomi has included is fingerprint scanner on the back of the Redmi 3 Pro. Apart from these, the smartphone shares some similar features like 32GB onboard memory (expandable up to 32GB via microSD), 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, runs on MIUI 7 on top of Android Lollipop and has hybrid dual SIM (micro + nano / microSD) support.
The connectivity features includes 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS. It is powered with 4000mAh battery on the back.
Price and Availability:
The Redmi 3 Pro will be offered in 3 different colors – Gray, Silver and Gold. It is priced at 899 Yuan and will go on sale in China starting from April 6th.
Price in India:
The successor of Redmi 3 will be priced around Rs. 9,190 in India. Xiaomi didn’t revealed when the device will be launched in India. Stay tuned as we will update once the device is officially announced in India.
