As scheduled, Xiaomi today announced its latest Android smartphone in its popular mid-range Redmi series at an event in New Delhi. Dubbed as Xiaomi Redmi 4, it is the successor of last year’s Redmi 3S which already reached over 4 million Redmi 3S units in terms of sales number in India. With this kind of sales records, Xiaomi has become the most preferred smartphone brand in India. The company will be expecting the same success with its newly launched Redmi 4 smartphone. Xiaomi Redmi 4 Specifications
The Redmi 4 features a 5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8 skin, which will get Android 7.0 update out of the box. Under the hood, there is a Octa-Core Snapdragon 435 SoC coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes in three different storage variants – the 2GB RAM with 16GB storage, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. All these can be further expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card slot.
On the camera department, it includes a 13-megapixels rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, PDAF, and LED flash. There is a 5-megapixels front facing camera for video calling and selfie purposes. The connectivity includes 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, and WiFi-802.11 a/b/g/n, while there is a 4100mAh massive battery on the back which provides backup for an entire day on heavy usage.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 comes in Gorgeous Black and Elegant gold colors in India, is priced at Rs. 6999 for the 2GB RAM with 16GB storage version, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version costs Rs. 8,999 and the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version costs Rs. 10,999. The device will be available to purchase from 23rd May at 12 noon on Mi.com and Amazon India. If you’re resident in Bengaluru, then the phone can be purchased from the newly launched Mi Home from May 20th.
