As expected, Xiaomi India announced its latest smartphone in the budget Redmi series dubbed as Xiaomi Redmi 4A. It was first announced in China alongside Redmi 4 back in November last year. The Redmi 4A is an upgrade to the Redmi 3 series which were already a great hit all over the world including India. Let’s have a look at the specifications, features and price of Redmi 4A smartphone.

Starting from the display, it sports a 5-inch HD display and is powered by the 1.4GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with Adreno 308 GPU and 2GB of RAM. There is a 16GB of internal storage which can be further extended up to 128GB via microSD card. For taking beautiful features, there is a 13-megapixels rear camera with PDAF, LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture, 1080p video recording and a 5-megapixels front facing camera. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 on top. It has 4G VoLTE support which lets users to enjoy Jio 4G and Airtel 4G services on their smartphone. The Redmi 4A also includes an IR blaster to control home & office electronic items directly from phone itself. There is a 3120mAh battery on the back which delivers 7-day standby time.
Xiaomi at the launch event said that it has started its second manufacturing plant in the country. It also said that more than 95% of Mi phones sold in India are Made in India. It also successfully created employment opportunities for more than 5,000 people, and over 90% of them are women.
Price in India: The Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes in Dark Gray, Gold, and Rose Gold color variants and is priced at Rs. 5,999. It will be available exclusively from Amazon.in and Mi.com starting from March 23rd. The Rose Gold version will be available from 6th April.
