Xiaomi on Thursday announced its latest mid-range smartphone in the Redmi series dubbed as “Redmi Note 4” at a special event in China. The device packs with several specs which are much identical to that of its predecessor, i.e. the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. On the look wise, the device adopts the same design to that of Redmi Note 3 apart from the antenna bands which are now wider and prominent and also the speakers are being placed at the bottom from the back. It also has brushed metal body with chamfered edges and comes with 4G LTE option along with VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) support. For complete specifications and features overview, read on the following.

Coming to the display, the Redmi Note 4 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 2.5D curved glass on the sides and has hybrid dual SIM support (micro + nano/microSD). It runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, powered with a Deca-Core MediaTek Helio X20 chip, and has 4100mAh massive battery on the back.
Similar to that of its predecessor, the Redmi Note 4 also comes in various storage variants – 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 64GB storage. The storage can be further extendable using a microSD card, which can be placed in the second SIM slot if you wish not to use two SIM cards at the same time.
As far the connectivity is concerned, the device comes with 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C, fingerprint scanner, and infrared sensor. For better pictures, there is a 13MP rear camera with features like PDAF, dual-tone LED Flash, and f/2.0 aperture, the 5MP camera on the front can be used for taking selfies. It measures 151x76x8.35mm and weighs 175g.
Price & availability details: The various color options are Gold, Silver, and Gray, the Redmi Note 4 is priced at 899 Yuan (US$ 135 / Rs. 9060 approx.) for the 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM and the 3GB RAM + 64GB storage costs 1199 Yuan (US$ 180 / Rs. 12,080 approx.). The smartphone will be available to purchase in China starting from tomorrow i.e. August 26th through various online stores like Mi Store, China Mobile and more.
