Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, the upcoming smartphone in the Redmi Note line-up gets US FCC certifications. It reveals some important specifications and features of the handsets. One of the leak suggest the pricing details, while the launch of the device is rumored to take place sometime in Q1 2017. There is no leaked photo or renders of the device surfaced online, so it is still unclear about the change in design we are expected to see. According to the US FCC certification, the smartphone could feature a 5.5-inch Full HD resolution display and powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 652 octa-core SoC (four Cortex A53 cores + four Cortex A72 cores) or MediaTek’s 64-bit Helio X25 deca-core SoC. Considering all the previous launches, the MediaTek variant will be sold in China while the Snapdragon variant will be available for various Global countries including India. On the storage front, it might come with 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage with a microSD card option for further memory expansion. For taking quality pictures, we could see a 16-megapixels rear facing camera and an 8-megapixels front facing camera for selfie and other video calling purposes. It might include 4,000mAh battery support with Quick Charge 3.0 support and adds various connectivity options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11n, GPS, 4G LTE, and USB Type-C port.

Price in India: The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is rumored to price $191 for the base version which converts to Rs. 13,000 approximately. As of now, these are the only details available regarding the Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi smartphone. Stay tuned as we’ll update once anything goes official about the handset.
