Xiaomi has officially announced that it has successfully sold over 1 Million Smartphones in India for Q3 2015, which includes the months of July, August, and September. It is the much more profited quarter ever since Xiaomi launch its first smartphone in the country back in 2014. Apart from Xiaomi, Lenovo also doing well with its smartphones claiming that they already sold over 1 million Lenovo K3 Note smartphones in India.
Xiaomi has seen a tremendous average quarterly growth rate of 45%. The all credit goes to Redmi 2 Prime, which is the best-selling smartphone along with Mi4i, Mi 4 and Mi Pad. The Redmi 2 Prime is also the first Xiaomi Made in India device with manufacturing unit being located in Andhra Pradesh.
Xiaomi when entered into India was exclusive only for Flipkart.com customers and slowly all its products were made available to purchase through other online retailer stores like Amazon and Snapdeal. In addition, the company also opened Mi.com official website back in June 2015 to sell various Mi smartphones, accessories and other services. The website recorded a total of 10 million visits in the month of October and over 1 million unique hits during the first day sale (3rd November) of #DiwaliWithMi campaign. During the three day sale, Xiaomi offered Mi Phones at great discounts, Rs. 1 flash sale, and other Play & Win contests. An Xiaomi products exclusive Android app called Mi Store was launched by the company and it comes pre-installed on its devices.
Manu Jain, India Head, Xiaomi says “We are thrilled to achieve this significant milestone of crossing the one million mark in one quarter, for the first time ever. Our sales continue to grow every quarter, and we have witnessed an average quarterly growth rate of 45%, which signifies huge momentum for our journey in India. Additionally, our online selling platform Mi.com has been growing significantly since its launch in June 2015, recording over 10 million visits in the month of October itself. During our #DiwaliWithMi campaign, over 1 million unique visitors came to Mi.com on the first day of our sale (3rd November).”
Recently Xiaomi launched ‘Mi Protect’ service in India starting at Rs. 275. It is an insurance service for Mi phones and tablets covering accidental damage, liquid damage, falling, and other such damages.
